Kennesaw State’s senior guard Delbert Love and junior center Willy Kouassi earned All-Conference Preseason accolades Thursday, the Atlantic Sun Conference announced.

Love was named to the 2014-15 All-Conference Preseason team while Kouassi won the fan vote for Preseason Defensive Player of the Year.

Native of Cleveland, Ohio, Love is coming off his junior season in which he surpassed the 1,000 point mark for his career making him just the 13th player in KSU history to do so. Love was the Owls’ leading scored in the 2013-14 season with 391 points and added 78 assists. He finished top-10 in several A-Sun statistical categories for the 2013-14 season including sixth in steals, fourth in 3-point field goal percentage, sixth in 3-pointers made and ninth in minutes played.

Kouassi led the Owls with 35 blocks during the 2013-14 season.

Kouassi transferred from Auburn in 2012 and saw his first action as an Owl in 2013. The Ivory Coast native used his 6-foot-10-inch frame to record 35 blocks last season and finish sixth in the conference with 1.1 blocks per game.

The Owls will hope these preseason superlatives are the beginning of successful campaign as the program will look to rebound after finishing last in the A-Sun in the 2013-14 season.
