Do you have what it takes to face 99 other players equipped with everything from a pickaxe to a rocket launcher? Well, so does the rest of the Kennesaw State.
“Fortnite Battle Royale,” the free-to-play multi-platform game of survival, was voted KSU’s best video game, and after garnering widespread popularity since its September 2017 release, this may not come as a surprise to some.
The game, developed and published by Epic Games, pits 100 unique players in a massive environment wherein they take positions, construct obstacles, scavenge for loot and eliminate other players until one person, or team, remains.
In order to drive players closer and closer together throughout each match, a deadly storm gradually constricts the map until only a small portion is left — forcing players to confront one another. Randomly, supply crates containing good items are also dropped around the map as the game progresses.
According to Bloomberg Markets, “Fortnite Battle Royale” currently hosts more than 45 million players — with 10 million within the first two weeks of its release, according to Gamespot. The game has also been endorsed by celebrities such as Drake, Travis Scott and Logic.
“Fortnite Battle Royale” is currently available for Playstation 4, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows, MacOS and iOS.
