Kennesaw State University has agreed to a multi-year deal with Dickey Broadcasting Company, that will make ESPN Radio 1230 The Fan 2 the exclusive home for Owls’ football.
The deal gives KSU its first radio rights and looks to help grow the Owls brand and fan-base throughout the South and the entire college football landscape. KSU had great success in its inaugural season, going an impressive 6-5, and inking a broadcasting deal was the next big jump for the program.
“We are excited to expand Dickey Broadcasting Company’s unprecedented college football coverage through our exciting partnership with KSU,” The Fan’s President David Dickey told KsuOwls.com. “We look forward to helping them [KSU] create and distribute market-exclusive content, for all KSU students, fans and sponsors to enjoy.”
The Fan airs on 93.7 FM and has multiple daily shows throughout the week. It’s Atlanta’s biggest sports station and just celebrated its 22nd anniversary. With over 160 years of Atlanta Sports Radio experience in its starting lineup, 680 The Fan is the preeminent sports station in the southeastern United States and has folks within the program more excited than ever.
“There is no radio brand in the southeast more synonymous with college football than The Fan,” Director of KSU Athletics Vaughn Williams told KsuOwls.com. “We are thrilled to join the Dickey family and solidify ESPN Radio 1230 The Fan 2 as the long-term radio home for the Owls. This is a great day for the Owls and our fans as we continue to advance the KSU brand in the region.”
The decorated radio station is also the exclusive home of the Atlanta Braves, Georgia Bulldogs, Georgia State football and basketball, Georgia Tech football and basketball, and now KSU football as well.
The Owls will look to continue its success from a momentous offseason on Sept. 3, when they kickoff the football season versus East Tennessee State University at Fifth Third Bank Stadium.
