Kennesaw State students can sign up to participate in an esports tournament for the game Valorant until March 25.
Red Bull Campus Clutch is a global 5-v-5 tournament for the 2020 video game Valorant. Valorant is a free-to-play game available on PC.
KSU is one of the schools in the qualifiers for the tournament and any KSU student can sign up for the event. Students interested in the event must either sign up in a group of five or sign up in a wildcard slot to be placed in a team with other students.
“Casual players are more than welcome to play,” Red Bull Student Brand Manager Waleed Masoud said. “We really want everyone that can [play] to be able to play.”
There is no fee to sign up for the tournament. The bracket will be built according to the number of teams and there is no limit on how many teams can sign up, Masoud said.
Valorant is a beginner-friendly game and something appealing to beginners, Masoud said. Players choose a character for the first-person shooter game and the first team to win 13 rounds wins.
Teams signing up through KSU must consist of KSU students over the age of 18.
Sign-ups for the tournament close on March 25th. The qualifiers start the night of the 25th and continue through April 18.
