Track and Field wins 17 events at KSU Invitational

On Friday, April 7, track and field won 17 events at the Kennesaw State Invitational.

As a team, the men and women combined for 458 points to take first place.
Finishing second, Kali Terza completed a toss of 61.91m. The toss established a new school record in women’s hammer throw.

In the women’s 100m hurdles, Corbin McLean finished in a time of 13.84 seconds. Ian Jackson completed in a time of 53.61 seconds to win the men’s 400m hurdles.

Caroline Timm won big in both the women’s 800m (2:08.30) and 1500m (4:44.99).

In the women’s 5k race Anna James won after running a time of 17:29.70. 

National champion, Isaiah Rogers, won the hammer throw after he landed a toss of 69.05m (226’06”). With a mark of 1.68m (5’6″), Kaylee Brown came out on top in the women’s high jump. As the winner of the men’s high jump, Sultan Simms cleared the bar at 2.03m (6’8″).

With a toss of 45.15m (148’1″), Kaylee Clark won the women’s javelin.

AJ Johnson cleared the bar at 5.18m (17’0″) to win the men’s pole vault while Chloe Tilton secured the women’s pole vault victory after she cleared at 3.60m (11’9.75″).

Courtney Lawrence won the men’s shot put following a landed personal-best throw of 19.54m (64’1.25″). Victorious in the triple jump, Tayla Moreland landed a mark of 13.38m (40’04.75″).

The women’s 4x100m relay team featured Anisa WilliamsCorbin McLean,Imani ChristianLouise Tocays. The team won following completing the relay in 46.68 seconds.


The women’s relay team consisting of Victoria JoyceKyndall HudsonSarah Hendrick and Imani Christian concluded the meet after running a time of 3:47:69.

“Really happy that we were able to get a meet in today with the weather coming tomorrow,” KSU Director of Track and Field Cale McDaniel said. “I was especially proud of our kids as the day went on. We had several big-time performances that will be NCAA top 20 or taking conference leads. 

“It was fun to get after it one more time in the Nest this year. I want to thank my staff and all of our support staff for helping us out on such a quality meet today.” 

The Owls will compete in the Georgia Tech Invitational on April 21-22.
