September Daily Crime Log overview

The Kennesaw State University Department of Public Safety and Police Department released the Daily Crime Log following the month of September across both campuses.

Of the 53 total incidents listed, 47 occurred on the Kennesaw campus and five occurred on the Marietta campus. With 20 incidents reported, the most frequent were related to criminal trespassing; 17 of which were warnings. There were also two incidents of criminal trespass and one incident of criminal trespass damage. One offense also involved a minor in possession of alcohol.

The second most common incident was a Violation of the Georgia Controlled Substances Act, which came to a total of 13 reported charges. At 10 total charges, the third most common incident was theft by taking. 11 of the total 53 incidents were cleared by arrest.

On Sept. 30, an offense of threatening an individual with terroristic acts was made at KSU Place Building A, but did not result in an arrest. There were also two reported incidents of harassing communications and two reports of stalking.

One incident of carrying weapons within a school safety zone resulted in an arrest. Another arrest was made under the offense of crossing the guardline with drug or weapon contraband. Two incidents of fire but no arson were reported, one in the Marietta campus architecture building and one on the Kennesaw campus University Village Suites 3000 building. Both occurred on Sept. 7.

The August Daily Crime Log and Fire Report contained 51 reported incidents. Of those, five were included on the Marietta campus report and 41 were included on the Kennesaw campus report. There were five incidents with no general location reported. There were nine total arrests made across the consolidated report.

15 offenses included reports of a Violation of the Georgia Controlled Substances Act. The August report also contained a rape charge reported on Aug. 16 in University Village Suites which was closed on Aug. 19. There were two DUI charges reported, one of which was an underage offense.

The October Daily Crime Log currently contained 12 reported incidents since its last update on Oct. 10 at 7:16 a.m. Fire information in the reports is available, but the Daily Fire Log page contains more detailed reports. The online log database dates to January 2014 and logs prior to this date are available upon contacting the KSU Police Department Records Department.
