KSU announces four finalists for Engineering College dean search

Kennesaw State’s search committee for the next dean of the Southern Polytechnic College of Engineering and Engineering Technology announced four finalists on Thursday, Feb. 28.

The SPCEET search committee announced that Dr. Naira Campbell-Kyureghyan, a professor in the College of Engineering and Applied Science at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Dr. Ashok Saxena, a professor and dean emeritus in the Department of Engineering at the University of Arkansas, Ian Ferguson, a professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Missouri University of Science and Technology, and Dr. Hossein Cheraghi, a professor and dean of the College of Engineering at Western New England University, will be holding public presentations open to all KSU faculty, staff and students.

According to an email sent to the KSU community, the finalists will present from March 4 to March 11 at various times and locations only on the Marietta campus. Each candidate’s individual presentation schedules, biographies and qualifications can be found on the dean search website.

Each candidate’s presentation will be live-streamed at livestream.kennesaw.edu for faculty, staff or students who cannot attend.

If selected, one of the four finalists will replace Dr. Renee Butler, the current Interim Dean of SPCEET. Butler also serves as a professor in KSU’s Systems and Industrial Engineering Department, which has added to her 13 years of experience in academia, according to KSU’s website.
