Dance Marathon was voted as the best KSU event by both campuses this year.
On March 24, student-run philanthropy KSU Miracle hosted its 10th annual Dance Marathon to raise money for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. The event drew 600 students who were eager to dance and raise money for the children.
Each year at Dance Marathon, KSU Miracle announces how much money has been raised for CHOA in the last year, with this year’s amount reaching more than $330,000.
Attendees learned and practiced a dance routine, played games, enjoyed food and heard the firsthand stories of families who have been helped by CHOA’s work.
Igne Zukaraite, a senior integrative studies major, serves as KSU Miracle’s president. Zukaraite said that many people are involved in planning an event this size and expressed a special thanks to Steve Kim, KSU Miracle’s internal director.
“None of it would have been possible if our leadership team, volunteers and participants hadn’t bought in,” she said.
While the event has passed, students can still look forward to next year’s Dance Marathon, and donate at http://www.ksumiracle.org/home/.
