Kennesaw State’s search and screen committee notified faculty and staff Thursday that the Board of Regents accepted recommendations to invite university president finalist candidates to visit KSU’s campus before a final selection is made.
The committee sent an email to faculty and staff, along with a letter from BOR Vice Chancellor for Organizational Effectiveness John Fuchko. The letter was sent directly to Douglas Moodie, chair of the search and screen committee.
“We will make every effort to have any finalist(s) selected by the Board of Regents visit the KSU campus prior to any confirming vote,” the letter said.
In the letter, Fuchko informed the committee that the BOR will need their assistance in scheduling the visits “during the five working day period outlined in state law.”
Moodie originally announced to faculty and staff Monday that the committee voted unanimously to ask the BOR to invite the finalists to KSU’s campus “during the interval between the announcement of the name(s) of finalist(s) and the final confirming vote by the Board of Regents.”
The committee made this decision after hearing feedback from faculty, staff and students during a faculty senate meeting and a Town Hall meeting, both held on Feb. 26.
Students have not received the past three email updates regarding the search, only faculty and staff have. Students did receive the first email regarding the Town Halls.
