Serial entrepreneurs create medical supply giant

KSU seniors Jalen Scott Uboh and Aubrey Evins have founded a medical supplier business in the middle of their undergraduate venture that has found corporate success.

In December 2016, Uboh and Evins, long-time business partners, founded Premier Medical Supply Co., a supplier of durable medical equipment, prosthetics and orthotics. Premier has been deemed a nationally accredited business since its inception and was awarded certification by the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services in 2017. Their office is currently located in Fayetteville, Georgia, and has seven full-time employees.

“One of the biggest adversities was proving to very established entities that our business was positioned to meet and exceed its contractual obligations,” Uboh said. “We worked relentless hours and kept our heads down. Ultimately, it all paid off. As we grew, we recruited dedicated individuals that were passionate about making the impossible possible.”

Premier is a U.S. federal contractor that supplies the military with life-saving equipment. Premier clients include the U.S. Navy and Army, VA hospitals, Cancer Treatment Centers of America and Piedmont Fayette Hospital.

Uboh, a finance major, plans to attend law school at Georgia State University to pursue a doctorate in jurisprudence. He plans to use this knowledge to improve overall operations as chairman and president of Premier.

Evins, a biochemistry major, is planning to attend pharmacy school at Florida A&M University to pursue a doctorate in pharmacy. As the chief pharmaceutical officer and executive vice president, he plans to use this knowledge to add a chain of independently-owned pharmacies to Premier.

“We are pursuing excellence in everything we do, including our academia,” Uboh said. “As graduation approaches, we couldn’t be more happier to check off another item off of our long ‘to-do’ list.”

The entrepreneur duo has taken on various ventures during their time at KSU.

“Our entrepreneurial began with a small four-man snack-delivery company for KSU students called Late Night KSU in the fall of 2014,” Uboh said. “After much success, we decided to explore our options in the world of business.”

Other business ventures include a residential landscaping company, a mall kiosk that sold Glide hoverboards and an event management and consultancy firm — however, they cite Premier as “the largest and most complex of them all.”

Premier Medical Supply Co. is located at 1240 HWY 54 West, Suite 504, Fayetteville, GA, nestled about 20 miles south of Atlanta. You can find out more about their business at www.premiermedicalsupply.co.
