The Kennesaw State Owls will prepare for their second consecutive road game as they face off against the Monmouth University Hawks on Saturday, Oct. 28.
This will mark Kennesaw’s longest road trip of the year as the team travels to West Long Branch, New Jersey to face its third Big South Conference opponent of the season.
KSU (5-2, 1-1 BSC) will head to Monmouth University (4-4,0-3 BSC) fresh off of another road win. The Owls are currently undefeated this season when playing on the road (3-0).
Kennesaw finds a strong opponent in Monmouth and will need to play well in all phases of the game to secure its fourth road win of the season.
Monmouth brings a strong offense, with an impressive rushing attack. Its defense is also capable of scoring, collecting 44 points off of turnovers so far this season.
The Owls’ defense will be fully aware of Monmouth’s running back duo of Lavon Chaney and Darren Ambush. Chaney is coming off of a stellar game against Liberty University in which he rushed for 145 yards. Ambush also had a career day in the Liberty game, accounting for 275 total yards from scrimmage.
The Hawks will most likely stick to the rushing attack for Saturday’s game plan. Their passing game has been less than ideal, averaging only 6.9 yards per pass.
While Monmouth can provide an explosive offense, the odds favor Kennesaw on paper. The Hawks average 26.6 points per game while KSU has an average of 38.7 points per game.
The game will be a tough competition for both teams and may have playoff implications for the Owls, who kickoff against the Hawks Saturday, Oct. 29.
