Owls return home to face Clark Atlanta

The Owls are now 6-2 overall, but their 2-1 Big South Conference record is even more impressive.

The two wins came after back-to-back weekends in away match-ups against Gardner-Webb University and Monmouth University. Now returning home to Kennesaw, the Owls face the Panthers, who are on a two-game losing streak.

Clark Atlanta University is 5-4 overall and 3-4 in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. The Owls are 4-0 on the road this season but only 2-2 at home.

The Panthers typically struggle on the road, going 1-2 on the season in conference match-ups. In order for KSU to secure a win, the team will need to continue its offensive success.

In the game against Gardner-Webb, the Owls found the end zone in the air and on the ground. Red-shirt sophomore quarterback Chandler Burks threw for 201 yards and one touchdown while also rushing for 74 yards. Senior running back Chaston Bennett rushed for a team-leading 76 yards and two touchdowns, while also receiving a team-high 110 yards on three receptions and one touchdown.

In the game against Monmouth, the Owls relied on their run game, rushing for 25 first downs.

Senior quarterback Trey White made his return from injury and rushed for a team-high four touchdowns. Although Burks found little success passing, he rushed for a team-high 129 yards on eight carries and two touchdowns.

The game against Clark Atlanta will be at 1 p.m. on Nov. 5 at Fifth Third Bank Stadium.
