Cultural dances show KSU’s diversity

The International Student Association hosted a dance festival on Thursday, Sept. 22, that featured a compilation of dances exhibiting the different cultures represented.

The International Dance Festival featured many dances, ranging from belly dancing and Bollywood to Korean Pop.

One of the attendees was Student Government Association President Victoria Brock, a senior marketing major.

“I always like to come out and support the student groups,” Brock said. “I love their passion, and I wish more people knew about it.”

Maryam Jaleel, a sophomore majoring in international affairs, danced in the event and has been dancing since middle school.

“I’ve been involved with the International Student Association for about three years now, and they’ve been dying to get me to perform for this,” Jaleel said. “It’s just been so much fun.”

Another one of the dancers, junior marketing major Stephanie Carvajalino, has been dancing all her life.

“I like to dance in the festival because it’s a great way to show different cultures,” Carvajalino said.
