Debate sparked during the 4/16/2015 SGA meeting when a resolution was proposed to add a senator seat specifically for LGBTIQ student representation. Debate arose because of the fact that there is already an American Minorities Senator which encompasses LGBTIQ students and some believed an extra senator seat was not necessary.

Granting a second seat for the American Minorities representation was among some of the solutions suggested. The Campus Climate Survey was used during the debate to see whether there is a major need based on numbers and discussions of future stipulations for adding senator seats was also discussed.

The resolution was tabled during the 4/16 and no meeting was held 4/23. The issue is still officially tabled until the next meeting.
