Try something new and interesting with a traditional North Indian meal at Taj Mahal Grill or a traditional Mexican meal at El Nopalito.
Both Taj Mahal Grill and El Nopalito are conveniently located a few minutes from campus on Barrett Parkway. They both also offer a 10 percent discount for KSU students when you present your picture ID. However, Taj Mahal Grill will not offer any discount for lunch since the buffet is offered at an already low price.
Upon entering Taj Mahal, the atmosphere was inviting with a friendly staff. Music played from the most popular R&B, Hip-Hop and Pop Indian musicians, which presented a nice ambiance.
I ordered the Mattar Mushrooms mixed with peas, mushrooms, garlic, ginger and onions. Most of the dishes come with rice and naan (oven-baked flatbread) to dip in sauces and to complement the meal. The dish was very appetizing with the sauce at just the right consistency.
Next, I went to El Nopalito in search of the best quesdillas and I think I found them. The fajita quesadilla was made impeccably with the chicken and cheese melted together. For dessert, I tried sopapillas and churros.
Churros are fried-dough in the shape of rolls with ice cream in the middle. There are four choices for the cream: caramel, vanilla, strawberry or natural (no cream inside). Sopapillas are caramelized fried-dough pastries in the shape of a triangle. Both desserts will satisfy any sweet tooth!
I highly recommend Taj Mahal Grill and El Nopalito for your next dining experience!
