Ask Linda

Linda Spector Boehringer is a student at KSU, who is currently juggling the joys of family life while returning to school to pursue a degree in Journalism. Linda lives in Kennesaw with her husband and three children. Her inspiration to start an advice column stems from her grandmother Rosie, who shared a passion for “Dear Abby” columns. With this column Linda hopes to create a forum where people can communicate daily issues. This column is designed to listen, educate and bring attention to important issues. By bringing your questions and comments to this forum you are helping create a close-knit community feel for the KSU family. Please email Linda at asklinda@ksusentinel.com and get involved. No issue is too little, too big or too outrageous!

This week’s column will be about comments regarding your Valentine’s Day activities! Comments were posted on the “Ask Linda” Facebook page. Please like the page and get involved! You, the reader, are a vital part of this column!

What was your Valentine’s Day like?

“Mine was great! I spent the day at a homeschool Valentine’s party with over 40 kids! The kids made crafts and ran their little hearts out at the Roswell Play Park Gym. As far as the adult part of Valentines…. I protest!! My husband and I protest Valentines Day every year. I don’t expect him to spend money or do anything special on a day where he is told. It’s more important to do it when it’s not expected. We don’t participate in Hallmark holidays and just watch everyone else fall in line and fulfill the expectations of their significant others.” –Eileen Taylor, USG senate candidate

“… I surprised Ed on his 50th birthday (he’s a Valentine’s baby!) by taking him to Puerto Rico. We had the most romantic Valentine/birthday dinner literally right on the beach (with our toes in the sand!) and had the most delicious meal. And finally, Crème Brule for dessert then an after dinner walk on the beach. Amazing!” – Helga Kulkarni, KSU graduate student

-Cheers!
