On a weekend road trip to North Carolina, Kennesaw State’s club ice hockey team began its slate of games on a high note, taking a 11-4 win over Coastal Carolina on Friday night.
“We got up on them pretty early,” head coach Sean Bernhardt said. “We let them back in on some bad penalties, but then we got a couple of power play opportunities and our power plays just took over the game. From then on we had control. Our power plays were really clicking tonight.”
KSU (8-3-1) had no shortage of firepower in the game. Rookie Will Linehan had his best performance of the season, getting the hat trick with three goals. Fellow rookie Alex Dolhon and Larry Adegoke also helped the cause with a few scores of their own.
The Owls will now look to extend its winning streak to three when they take on Florida Atlantic on Saturday night before playing East Carolina this Sunday.
