The Owls are still looking for a conference win after finishing their final road trip against Liberty and Delaware.

Kennesaw State and Liberty faced off on Thursday, where Liberty won the contest by a score of 2-1.

The Flames gave the Owls some trouble early, but Owls goalkeeper Charlee Bernal made a diving save to keep the score even.

The Flames scored the first goal of the match in the 19th minute, coming from Halle Engle, assisted by Ivy Garner.

The Owls were awarded with a free kick in the 25th minute but failed to convert.

This was the only goal seen by either team in the first half. Liberty controlled possession in the half and was all over the Owls goalkeeping, with 15 shots compared to just one by the Owls.

The Flames extended their lead early in the second half on a goal by Lauren Flax in the 50th minute, seeming to take control of the match with a 2-0 lead.

The score remained at 2-0 for most of the half, until the 81st minute when the Owls got on the board on a goal by midfielderAddison Neal, her first of the year.

The Owls failed to add on to this late-match rally, as Liberty did a good job of keeping the ball away, and 2-1 is where the match ended.

KSU then traveled to Delaware for its Sunday afternoon matchup against the Fightin’ Blue Hens, the first ever meeting of the two.

Delaware began the scoring early on a goal by Brooke Vogel in the 13th minute, giving the Blue Hens a 1-0 lead.

Minutes later, Adiat Olaogun-Dickson thought she had a goal for Delaware but it didn’t count after she was ruled offsides.

Delaware extended its lead later in the first half on another goal by Vogel in the 36th minute, her second of the match and fifth of the season. This brought the match to a 2-0 Blue Hens advantage.

The second half saw more of the same. Delaware extended its lead to 3-0 in the 51st minute on a penalty kick goal by Gabby Riley.

The Blue Hens scored their fourth and final goal of the match in the 64th minute to take a 4-0 advantage

The offensive struggles for the Owls continued over the weekend, as they failed to score for all 90 minutes. They managed 10 shots but failed to put them through the net.

The Owls got themselves into penalty trouble as well, with four different players being issued a yellow card in the second half.

KSU returns home this week for their final homestand of the season and final two matches of the regular season, taking on Jacksonville State and Middle Tennessee, the first of which being Saturday night at 7 p.m. against Jacksonville State.

The Owls now have a record of 1-10-4 after the road trip and are still searching for their first conference win.
