The club of the week is the Muslim Student Association at Kennesaw State, which is a religious club open to all KSU students, Muslim and non-Muslim alike.
Also known as the MSA, the club focuses on giving Muslim students a place to come together for religious and social events.
“Kennesaw State University’s Muslim Student’s Association was established a few years ago when the Muslim students at KSU realized our population was growing and needed a place to band together,” according to the MSA’s OwlLife page.
The MSA hosts a variety of virtual and in-person events including speaker events, social gatherings and holiday celebrations. During this fall semester they have already hosted a welcome meeting on the Kennesaw campus green and a halaqa with speaker Br. Abdulazeez. A halaqa is a gathering reserved for studying Islam and the Quran. MSA will continue to host halaqas throughout the semester, along with holiday celebrations and other meetings.
The MSA is not closed to non-Muslim members either. They welcome any KSU students who are interested in participating or learning more about Islam. The goal of the club is “to keep giving a place for Muslim students at KSU to come together, and to give a platform for non-Muslims to understand Islam in a better light.”

There is NO preaching at our MSA. We are completely against forcing our views down people’s throats. We believe in peacefully educating people about our religion and letting them make their own decisions. We are always excited to have new members, so please join us! This year, MSA has an entirely new executive board, so we are still rebuilding our membership because of the loss of so many of our members due to them graduating. If you would like to know more about Islam or know anyone who is interested in joining, please contact us! We have no restrictions on who can join: every KSU student (Muslim and non-Muslim) is very much welcome to join us.
MSA’s motto is “spreading peace through understanding,” and that is what they will continue to do throughout the school year.
