KSU’s Student Government Association will host a debate-viewing party Tuesday, Oct. 16 for the second presidential debate at 8 p.m.
Lauren Doby, SGA’s director of Press and Public Relations, said the purpose of this event is to inform students about the candidates before the Nov. 6 election. The event will be held in Room 2028 of the Social Sciences Building.
KSU’s political organizations will set up tables and campaign for their respective candidates. They will also distribute campaign literature and inform students about how they can become more involved in the days leading up to the 2012 election.
Mitt Romney and Barack Obama square-off at 9 p.m. for the second of three scheduled presidential debates this month. The debate, located at Hofstra University in Hempstead, N.Y., will take the form of a town hall meeting where citizens will ask the candidates questions on foreign and domestic issues. The debate will be moderated by CNN Chief Political Correspondent Candy Crowley.
The vice presidential debate will take place Thursday, Oct. 11 at 9 p.m. Vice President Joe Biden and Rep. Paul Ryan wwill take part in a 90-minute debate on foreign and domestic policy from Centre College in Danville, Ky.
