The Kennesaw Activities Board hosted a music festival on The Green on Thursday, Sept. 8.
The event’s name “Kabchella” is a combination of the widely known Coachella music festival held in California every year and KAB, the board’s acronym.
“This event is where KAB meets Coachella, so we basically asked a lot of people during the summer what they want to see on the green,” KAB member and event planner Tiajah Sherman said. “Kabchella” was the result.
The event took place on The Green from 3 to 7 p.m. There were several activities, including henna tattoos, caricature art, a photo booth, a Ferris wheel and carnival food.
“I like this event a lot,” freshman Jennifer Rhodes said. “I like the snow cones, the Ferris wheel, and the music is really good, too.”
The main attraction of “Kabchella” was the live music, provided by a diverse assortment of artists from the local community. The lineup included Jaye Newton, Day Wlk, Que, Michael Aristotle, and Nicx Alexander.
“KAB is all about turning the student activity funds into fun,” Sherman said.
The event had a successful turnout, and there is still more to look forward to from the KAB. Follow their pages on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook to stay up to date on all of their activities and events.
