The Institute of Internal Auditors recognized Kennesaw State University as a Center of Excellence for its Internal Auditing Education program.
KSU is the only university in the state of Georgia to be authorized and certified by the IIA. It is also the fourth university in North America and the seventh in the world to earn the Center of Excellence top status.
The internal audit curriculum includes educating undergraduate and graduate students, conducting research and engaging with the internal audit community.
The IIA classified KSU as a “forward thinking university that recognizes the importance of career choices.”
“We are so honored to achieve this level of recognition from the Internal Auditors,” Richard Clune, director of the Internal Audit Center, said in a press release.
Kathryn Epps, the associate dean and director of KSU’s School of Accountancy, also appreciated the recognition of the IIA.
“Our mission includes being nationally recognized, and earning this Center of Excellence goes beyond that as one of seven universities in the world,” Epps said in the release. “We look forward to this next step in our journey to provide the best education for our students.”
KSU’s partnership with the IIA Atlanta chapter provides students with internships, co-ops and job opportunities.
