Unreleased tapes, heated arguments and unresolved drama. What did the islanders have to say?

The islanders reunited for the last time since leaving Fiji. The Love Island USA reunion featured updates on the final four couples, unreleased tapes, heated arguments and a ton of unresolved drama, hosted by Andy Cohen and Ariana Madix.

The hosts kicked off the reunion with a check-in on the finalists. Second-place finishers Nic Vasnteenberghe and Olandria Carthen talked about the state of their relationship and claimed they are taking things slow. They said they are planning trips together and making a bucket list, including skydiving.

When asked if their relationship is fake, Olandria joked that those rumors only increase their popularity, and both laughed off claims that their romance is staged.

Just days before the reunion aired, Iris Kendall and Pepe Garcia unfollowed each other on Instagram, leaving fans questioning their relationship. Cohen said that shortly after leaving Fiji, Iris was photographed with former islander TJ Palma, sparking romance rumors. However, Iris reiterated that she is still dedicated to Pepe despite the controversy.

The night’s most pressing questions, however, were directed to Amaya “Papaya” Espinal and Bryan Arenales, the season winners. Rumors of Bryan cheating surfaced after he was spotted at a nightclub a only few days after the show’s finale. Bryan addressed the controversy by acknowledging a “lapse in judgment,” despite being paid to host the event.

Amaya sat quietly by his side during the reunion and reassured fans that she is not the type of girl to stay with someone who doesn’t respect her.

Chris Seeley and Huda Mustafa sat apart after leaving the show without a partner, though they placed fourth on Love Island. The tension was evident when Huda’s post-show interviews were brought up. Chris claimed that Huda’s interviews had made him feel disrespected. When asked if they could remain friends and forgive each other, Chris said that he is a very forgiving person, but he couldn’t be friends with Huda.

Huda, meanwhile, evaded any speculation surrounding her supposed relationship with Perfect Match star Louis Russell, citing “legal reasons with Netflix.” Huda’s undercover relationship status left the Love Island cast and hosts baffled. Cohen then cheekily stated, “Make sure Netflix knows this was the number one streaming show of the summer.”

As most of the Love Island cast joined the final-four couples on stage, Coco Watson and Olandria faced serious confrontation after Coco name-dropped Olandria during a podcast. Coco said Olandria had been “standoff-ish” at Casa Amor and claimed that she was “being all ‘my man, my man’” over cast member Taylor Williams. Although the conversation ended amicably, Coco claimed that her comments were not intended to be shady towards Olandria.

Huda and Chelley Bissainthe clearly disagreed on where the two stood about Chris being brought back to the Villa during Casa Amor. Extended Love Island footage revealed that Huda insisted on bringing Chris back for Chelley, despite Huda’s desire to explore her personal connection with Chris. The two were never able to reach a common ground.

Drama deepened when Olandria and Chelley criticized Huda for not standing up for them against racist online abuse. Huda was allegedly asked to and agreed to make a post about it since she had the largest social media following. As Olandria explained that her image was placed on pictures of George Floyd, she became emotional.

According to both Olandria and Chelley, the two no longer view Huda as a friend and have since unfollowed her.

Later, cast member Ace Greene defended himself against claims that he was the Villa’s “ringleader,” arguing he could not dictate the actions of “grown men.” He also addressed speculation that he and Chelley conspired to appear on the show together after fans discovered years-old social media interactions between them. Both laughed off the theory.

The most startling moment of the night occurred when extended footage of the Heart Rate Challenge aired. Huda was seen kissing and dancing seductively with Ace during her and Chris’ performance. Huda acknowledged that she might have gone “a step too far,” making Chelley noticeably tense. Chelley claimed that she felt her anger was “justified.”

Taylor, Iris and Nic all agreed that there had been a breach of boundaries.

By the end of the special, it was evident that though Fiji may no longer be their home away, the islanders are still dealing with past traumas, fresh love stories and friendships that have been put to the test beyond the Villa.
