Milton Overton’s appears to still hold the role of Kennesaw State Director of Athletics despite not appearing to be under contract.

Obtained via an open records request through KSU, Overton’s previous contract was set to expire on June 30, 2025. The deal included yearly renewals under the condition: “the Athletic Director has fully complied with the terms and conditions of this Agreement during the Term.

Not once since his hiring has the university released a statement regarding any amendments or extension to Overton’s contract.

Additional open records requests have been filed in hopes of gaining clarification from KSU on Overton’s employment status, to which the university has responded with: “There are no additional responsive records for the request regarding AD Overton.”

Overton remains profiled as the Director of Athletics on KSU’s athletics website and the university’s website.

Overton has held the position since 2017, overseeing the hiring process of the majority of current coaches in KSU athletics.

Both the head coaching positions for softball and women’s golf remain vacant as the 2025-26 athletic year approaches, insinuating a sense of urgency for the athletic department to fill the positions.

KSU has been contacted but has yet to reply with comment.
