Men’s basketball adds Alabama to 2025-26 schedule

Kennesaw State will face coach Antoine Pettway‘s alma mater Alabama in Huntsville, Alabama as part of its 2025-26 non-conference schedule.

Per Rocco Miller’s X post, the Owls will take on Alabama for the second time in program history at Propst Arena in Huntsville on Dec. 21.

Propst Arena also serves as host to the Conference USA Tournament, where KSU saw its season conclude in a semifinal loss to Liberty in March.

Pettway, a four year player at Alabama spent 15 seasons on staff with the Crimson Tide as an assistant coach and director of basketball operations under former head coaches Mark Gottfried, Anthony Grant, Avery Johnson and current head coach Nate Oates.

The contest will be the Owls’ first against a Southeastern Conference opponent since they fell to Florida 88-78 in 2022, and their second matchup with Alabama having previously faced off in 2015.

The Crimson Tide are coming off a 28-9 season featuring trip the NCAA Regional Final featuring major contributions from former Owls star Chris Youngblood.  

Since making the jump to Division I, KSU is 0-10 against SEC opponents.
