New Owls coach Jerry Mack will return to his old place of employment in 2026.
Kennesaw State football announced on its X account on Friday the Owls will be making the trip to Knoxville in 2026 to face Tennessee for the first time in program history.
The trip will be = a homecoming for Mack, who spent three seasons as the Volunteers’ running backs coach from 2021-2023.
Quarterbacks coach Mitch Militello, tight ends coach Kyle Blocker and running backs coach Aston Walter each also spent time on staff at Tennessee under coach Josh Heupel.
The game will take place on Saturday, Sept. 19 at Neyland Stadium. Neyland will assume the top spot amongst highest-capacity venues the Owls have competed in during their brief history as a football program.
Following the Owls matchups against Indiana and Wake Forest this upcoming season, the matchup will be just KSU’s fourth against a power-conference opponent.
