Club ice hockey finished its season with a 10-8 regular season record and seventh place finish in the 2025 College Hockey South Division 3 Playoffs.
The Owls entered the playoffs as the North Division’s fifth seed and beat the Florida Tech 9-3 in the first play-in game of the tournament on Feb. 20 to move on to play South Carolina, the top seed in the division.
Owen Foster, Jayden Price and Sebastian Zamborsky each scored two goals while Bradley Burton, James Kravis and Justin Yu each added a goal.
The Owls lost to the Gamecocks 4-2, the tournament’s eventual champion, on Feb. 21 before beating Alabama, the North division’s fourth seed, 8-3 on Feb. 22 to finish the season.
The Owls got goals from Yu and Ashton Nulty in the loss. In their final game of the season, the team got four goals from Zamborsky and a goal each from Price,Robert Schutt, Hudson Bashkin and Christopher Scott.
Zamborsky was named as one of the conferences’ three stars for the week of Feb 17-23, putting up six goals and one assist for a seven point performance in the Owls’ three playoff games.
He led the Owls in goals (22) and points (33) for the regular and post season, tying him for second place for goals and placing him in sixth place for points in the division.
He was recognized as one of three forwards on the Division 3 All-Conference Second Team ending the regular season with 16 goals, 10 assists and 26 points in 13 games, while Christian Sousa was recognized as one of two defensemen on the Division 3 All-Conference First Team with two goals, 23 assists and 25 points in 15 games.
Price finished the season as the ninth leading scorer in the division with 31 points, ninth in assists with 17 and 15th in goals with 14.
Sousa came in fourth in assists and 23rd in points scored in the division. Connor Lakly ended the season at 10th in goalie wins with six, while Alex Wehbe came in 22nd place with 3. Wehbe also finished third in save percentage (0.925) and seventh place in goals against average (2.00). Lakly also finished in 20th place in goals against average (4.00).
11 members of the team were selected to the 2024-2025 All-Academic Team for maintaining a 3.2 or higher GPA for the academic year while on the team. Wehbe, Nulty, Sousa, Lakly, Kravis, Foster, Daniel Cotnoir, Dylan Warmath, Essix Moser, Hudson Orgeron and Robert Wilcox were all recognized for this honor.
The 2025-2026 season will see a new team of Owls on the ice as the Women’s division will expand from ten teams to thirteen for the inaugural seasons of the Owls women’s.
