Atlanta-based New Realm Brewing Company announced its partnership with Kennesaw State University and the launch of KSU’s first official craft beer “OWL IN” in September.

“We’re proud of our new partnership as the Official Craft Beer of KSU,” Jeff Chassner, Chief Sales Officer at New Realm Brewing Company said. “I’m excited about every product in our portfolio, but as an alumnus of KSU, launching OWL IN has been a passion project for me. We’re thrilled to introduce this new beer during such a fun time of year for college sports fans.”

“OWL IN” is now available at KSU athletic events and stores throughout the Kennesaw area and at their brewpub located on the beltline in Atlanta.

“Crafted for refreshment, OWL IN is made with a smooth hop bill featuring Magnum, Hersbrucker and lemondrop hops.” New Realm said in its press release. “The result is a 4% ABV lager with a straw-gold color, 115 calories and 9 carbs. Available in select markets year-round, the beer will be available in 12-ounce 6-packs, 16-ounce singles and draft packages.”

The beer was made available in time for the Owls first home football game of the 2024 season against Louisiana.

“(OWL IN) is a fantastic, easy drinking, what we like to call sessionable, or crushable light lager for tailgating season,” Chassner said. “The timing was perfect when we launched it in associating with the first home football game this year. We just want to provide for tailgaters that opportunity to kind of have that badge in their hand, something with scrappy on it, something really enjoyable they could drink all day.”

Chassner and the Team at New Realm reminds everyone to please drink responsibly.

KSU was not what it is now when Chassner was a student. When the New Realm CSO graduated in 2000, Owls’ athletics were still competing at the NCAA Division II level and a football program was not yet even an idea.

Since then, the university has more than tripled its enrollment from just over 13,000 to nearly 50,000, seen success across its athletics at the Division I level and founded a football program that was able to transition to the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) in just its 10th full season.

“Because of how I earned my degree by working for KSU athletics, I always had the strong desire to give back to KSU,” Chassner said. “I never really left, I’ve been going to games since graduating on and off.”

Chassner said he doesn’t expect New Realm’s partnership to end with OWL IN and envisions an additional product debuting by next football season.

“We’d like to have a companion brand probably by next football season where we have two beers,” Chassner said. “With both beers having a percentage of proceeds go back to athletics.”
