Track & Field hits Nashville Music City Challenge

Kennesaw State’s track and field teams were featured in the Nashville Music City Challenge on Saturday, Feb. 11.

Winning the 800m, Sarah Hendrick ran a time of 2:02.92.

Tyriq Hussie finished 10th place in the 60m after posting a time of 6.85 seconds. Kelvin Campbell finished second in triple following his leap of 14.89m (48’10.25″). Malik Hussie completed in ninth in the seeded 400m. Hussie ran a time of 48.33 seconds. Courtney Lawrence earned fourth place in the invite shot put after he landed a toss of 18.93m (62’1.25″). 

KSU’s men’s 4x400m relay team consisting of M. Hussie, Sparticus GriffinChance Cross and T. Hussie secured second place to close out the meet. The 4x400m relay team ran 3:12.46.Representing the women’s team, Chloe Tilton tied for fifth in the open pole vault. Tilton cleared the bar at 3.60m (11″9.75″). In the 400m, Kyndall Hudson grabbed 10th place after running a time of 56.89 seconds. In the 60m hurdles contest, Corbin McLean posted a time of 8.48 seconds, earning second place. Completing a leap of 12.40m (40’8.25), Tayla Moreland finished fourth in the triple jump. Finishing in 15th in the 800m seeded, Natalie Cummings ran an indoor personal-best time of 2:09.20.

In the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships on Feb. 16-18 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Isaiah RogersTyler BlalockAnthony Harrison are join forces with former Owls Daniel Haugh, Paris Williams and Josh Mulder to compete in the contest.

The Owls will compete in the ASUN Indoor Championships on Feb. 24-25. in Lynchburg, Virginia.
