Both old and new fans rejoice now that famous singer Louis Tomlinson released his second solo studio album, “Faith In The Future” on Nov. 11.
It was officially announced on Aug. 31 of this year. On his Twitter Tomlinson stated, “after living with this album for a while I can’t wait for you all to hear it. Thank you for allowing me to make the music I want to make.”
This album has a different sound than his first solo album “Walls” and his past One Direction music as he uses early 2000s and festival rock as inspiration. Even though his official genre is pop he has been experimenting with a more alternative sound.
He released his first single off the album “Bigger Than Me” on Sept. 1 before the album’s launch and the music video came out the next day. The next two singles released along with music videos were “Out of My System” and “Silver Tongues.”
He even teased the album’s name on Twitter many times by tweeting the phrase several moments before the album was even announced. He always promised that big things were coming and to simply just have faith in the future. Thankfully, the album has 16 songs, along with the Target exclusive edition that features a live edition of “Copy of a Copy of a Copy” and an unreleased song called “Paradise.”
This makes this his first solo No. 1 album on the charts and the fifth including his albums with One Direction, as reported by the Official Charts website. It also topped the Official Vinyl Albums Chart which means it was the most purchased record that week while also being the top seller in independent record shops in the United Kingdom.
“My album is Number 1 on the Official Charts – I can’t quite believe I’m saying that. I just want to say a massive, massive thank you for all the incredible support the fans have shown me in the last week and my whole career,” Tomlinson says while speaking to Official Charts. “This is an absolute honor and not necessarily something I saw coming. Thank you, thank you, thank you!”
The singer and songwriter rose to fame after auditioning for the television show The X-Factor. He was paired with four other young men and they started a band called One Direction. Even though they did not win the show, they became one of the biggest boybands in the world. The band ended in the year 2016 and each celebrity has since been experimenting with different genres of music separately.
This is the first album that Tomlinson has released that has not been with Syco Music, the management company run by Simon Cowell. The album is very interesting as his music is developing and fans can not wait to see where it goes in the future.
Tomlinson will be on tour starting the upcoming year. His concert in Atlanta, Ga. will be at the Cadence Bank Amphitheatre at Chastain Park on July 15, 2023. Ticket prices are currently starting at $37.50.
“Faith in the Future” is now available for purchase and to listen to on all streaming platforms.
