Kennesaw State’s most recent push for campus involvement was hosted by President Kathy Schwaig and Interim Provost Ivan Pulinkala, where students lined up to be served pancakes at both campuses’ dining halls.
From 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., Schwaig and Pulinkala threw on their chef uniforms and served pancakes to those that stopped by The Commons on Aug. 23 or Stingers on Aug. 24. This event was open for all of the campus community to attend, including students, faculty and staff.
Students could use a meal plan entry, dining dollars, KCash or purchase an entry through the GrubHub app to gain access to the dining hall and enjoy breakfast. Schwaig and Pulinkala spent some of their time in the kitchen flipping pancakes with the dining hall staff. Shortly after, they were providing a morning meal for everyone.
A Facebook video featuring Schwaig and Pulinkala’s participation in the event was posted by KSU later that day. Students and faculty members that attended the event were also included in the video.
Schwaig helped kick off the first day of the fall semester by participating in the First Day of School cake tradition on the Campus Green of the Kennesaw Campus.
Hosting over 43,000 students, KSU offers a space for hundreds of campus events and student organizations. Students have the freedom to involve themselves in Fraternity and Sorority Life, Student Leadership and much more.
Owl Life, a hub for campus activities and events is available to those interested in participating in more events like this on campus.
Owl Life also offers students the ability to learn about more than 300 of KSU’s student-led organizations. Those intrigued by making a positive environmental impact could join Adopt-a-Stream at KSU. This organization monitors and works to improve Georgia’s streams. Anyone who is a first-generation college student could join First-Gen Owls and be surrounded by a supportive community that promotes career development and academic success.
For students with an undeclared major, on the fence between majors, or interested in career pathway discussions, the Career Planning and Development’s Career Exploration team will be hosting Coffee and Career Conversations on Sept. 2 in the Academic Learning Center. Students must reserve a spot in order to attend.
