The two search committees for the new Kennesaw State University president were named Thursday, Feb. 1, 49 days after Olens announced his resignation on Dec. 14, 2017.
The members of the committees were announced via a Board of Regents press release. The two committees are the Presidential Search and Screen Committee and the Regents’ Special Committee.
The search and screen committee represent the faculty, staff and students of KSU in the search and are responsible for finding candidates and conducting interviews for the presidency.
The 14-member committee is made up of SGA President Victoria Brock, KSU Alumni Association President Steve Ellis and President and CEO of the Cobb Chamber Sharon Mason to name a few.
The Regents’ Special Committee will receive the recommendations of three to five prospective candidates the search and screen committee forwards to them and has sole responsibility for appointing the next KSU president. The Regents’ special committee is chaired by regent Neil L. Pruitt Jr.
Parker Executive Search of Atlanta will be assisting the search and screen committee in finding candidates. The committee will be charged on Feb. 14, one day before Olens’ resignation officially goes into effect.
