The International Student Association will host a Halloween party called “Club ISA” on Friday, Oct. 28, to help fundraise for Haiti.
The first ever “Club ISA” will raise money for disaster relief in Haiti through the World Food Program, which will use the money for food and emergency generators that are needed in the area.
“We always like to help out when there is something like this,” said junior biology pre-med student and ISA secretary Akshita Maan. “We have a few students who are from Haiti and given the current disaster we really wanted to do something for Haiti.”
The event will consist of a DJ, dance floor, snacks and “mocktails,” or non-alcoholic cocktails. ISA is also providing a safe environment for attendees to have Halloween fun and get a feel for what a club atmosphere is like.
Attendees are highly encouraged to come in costume to participate in the costume contest. The first place prize will be revealed closer to the event date.
“The whole executive board will be there dressed as Suicide Squad,” Maan said.
Admission costs $5 with a KSU student ID and $8 without it. ISA will send half of the proceeds to Haiti and use the other half to support the association.
ISA’s events are usually for educational purposes, but along with “Club ISA,” the association will host a karaoke event at 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct 27, on the Marietta campus.
