Haunted House Scares: Very scary!
Haunted House Length: 30 minutes
If you are tired of the typical haunted house and are looking for one with a bit more edge, then look no further. Chambers of Horror is the only R-rated haunted house in Georgia where their visitors are exposed to boobs, profanity, and fake genitalia, along with bloods, guts and gore. Because of this sensitive material, visitors must be 18 years old or older to enter.
Since this age requirement limits the audience for this haunted house, the lines are not only shorter, but the staff is also able to make the haunted house a lot more interactive. The monsters that lurk outside of the haunted house are not afraid to give you a taste of the profanity and crude language before the real treat.
This year’s theme was about an infectious disease that took over the mind and body of victims. Those infected had to be killed and those who remained needed to fight to stay alive. Upon entering in a group of four to five, they pick one person who they decide has been infected and attempt to warm that individual of the hell they will soon endure.
The interactive aspect that occurs as you meet a new character around every corner intensified the experience as the situation begins to seem more realistic. As for the scare factor, the special effects, terrifying characters and intense story line had me screaming like a child and grasping at the wall for dear life.
As for the topless girls and fake genitalia that decorated the haunted house, it can certainly make you uncomfortable in the beginning, but they still get into character and give you a sufficient scare. Visitors should also be advised that they will get wet by fake bodily fluids.
“If you get easily offended, I do not recommend you coming. They are going to say weird things to you, they’re going to try to offend you,” Lucas Godfrey, the director and co-owner, said. “But it is a lot of fun and we have a varying audience that all seem to love it.”
