Kennesaw State’s club ice hockey team continued its strong play, completing a sweep of the their weekend road trip with a 9-2 win over Florida Atlantic on Saturday and a 9-3 victory over East Carolina on Sunday.
The Owls (10-3-1) got out to a fast start against Florida Atlantic, scoring four times in the first period. KSU spared no expense in letting everyone in on the action.
“We got to play almost everybody,” head coach Sean Bernhardt said. “All the lines played, benches played.”
KSU followed that performance with a similar one on Sunday morning against East Carolina, again scoring four goals in the first frame. Cory Prinzbach picked up the hat trick with three goals and Larry Adegoke added two for the Owls’ fourth win in a row.
“Everybody got involved with the scoring,” Bernhardt said. “We got to our forecheck pretty good. Our defense played well all weekend. We started quick and we kept them down after that. Definitely a positive weekend. Going forward, it’s a lot to build on.”
The Owls will now attempt to extend their current winning streak when they return home to play Florida State on Friday, Nov. 14 at 10 p.m. at the Ice Forum.
