I’m on a roll now. After a season high 11-4 record in week 6, I followed it up with another 11-4 record last week. There were two pretty big upsets last week. The first was the Austin Davis led Rams taking care of the Seahawks 28-26. The second was the Dolphins handling the Bears with ease 27-14. Another 15 games are on tact this week with the 49ers and Giants on a bye week. Let’s see if I can continue the success from the last two weeks.
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 22nd
8:25 p.m. ET Chargers at Broncos
Could we have a good Thursday night game two weeks in a row? The Broncos are coming off three impressive offensive outings in a row, but the Chargers defense has been pretty good this season. The winner of this game may need to score 35 points. Phillip Rivers has been awesome this season, and I expect a great performance from him to show himself as the frontrunner for the MVP. Chargers get the upset. Chargers 35, Broncos 31
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 25th
9:30 a.m. ET Lions at Falcons
What’s better than waking up to football? The Falcons and Lions will face off in London for a morning special this week. Detroit managed to capture an impressive comeback win last week against the Saints and is starting to show as a true contender in the NFC. Things won’t get any better for Atlanta this week against a strong defense. Lions 24, Falcons 13
1:00 p.m. ET Ravens at Bengals
Who are the Bengals? After getting off to a great start to the season, the Bengals have forgotten how to play defense and got shut out last week against the Colts. A.J. Green could return this week and should provide a consistent target for Andy Dalton. Cincy gets back on track. Bengals 27, Ravens 21
1:00 p.m. ET Seahawks at Panthers
Seattle no longer looks like the team to beat in the NFC after a bad loss against the Rams last week. In a clash of two of the best defenses in the league last season, this doesn’t look like a low scoring game anymore. Marshawn Lynch should have a monster game against the terrible Panthers run defense. Seahawks 34, Panthers 24
1:00 p.m. ET Bills at Jets
All hail Kyle Orton! Orton led the Bills to a victory last week and got rookie Sammy Watkins involved like many people have been waiting for. Percy Harvin will make his Jets debut, and I don’t expect it to have any difference at all. The Bills win in an ugly one. Bills 16, Jets 13
1:00 p.m. ET Bears at Patriots
I’ve been a believer in the Bears all year, and I continue to get proved wrong. Despite all of the weapons on offense, Chicago has been unable to translate its talent to consistent offensive output this season. The Patriots offense seems to be catching fire, and this isn’t the Bears defense we once watched. Patriots 31, Bears 24
1:00 p.m. ET Texans at Titans
The Titans are a pretty bad team. Houston should have no problem shutting down the anemic Tennessee defense, and as long as Arian Foster gets the ball at least 20 times, it should have no problem getting the victory on Sunday. Texans 20, Titans 10
1:00 p.m. ET Dolphins at Jaguars
The Jaguars got in the win column last week after they shut down to Browns defense and allowed only six points. Despite that, the Jaguars still have problems moving the ball consistently, and the defense isn’t good enough to do that every week. The Dolphins win their second in a row. Dolphins 27, Jaguars 17
1:00 p.m. ET Vikings at Buccaneers
This isn’t the most exciting game this week, is it? Jerrick Mckinnon has provided a spark to the Vikings offense, but Teddy Bridgewater has still struggled throwing the ball since taking over. The Bucs are either an okay team, or historically bad when they take the field. Throwing those two together make this a really hard game to predict. I guess I’ll the Bucs since they’re at home. Buccaneers 28, Vikings 24
1:00 p.m. ET Rams at Chiefs
Kansas City got a big win last week against a very good Chargers team, and I expect it to carry over to a big win at home on Sunday. Austin Davis has a rough game after riding high from the win over Seattle. Chiefs 24, Rams 14
4:05 p.m. ET Eagles at Cardinals
The Cardinals are 5-1 and undefeated at home, and I don’t expect that to change this week. I’m still not a believer in Nick Foles or the Eagles. It’s been a fairly easy schedule so far for Philly, and they’ve been bailed out by some surprising play from their defense that I don’t see continuing. Cardinals 31, Eagles 24
4:25 p.m. ET Raiders at Browns
This one is another one that won’t get many viewers outside of the respected fanbases. Brian Hoyer really struggles last week and will have to pick up his play if he wants to keep Johnny Football off of the field for much longer. The Raiders are still looking for their first victory. I just don’t think they’ll get it on the road in this one. Browns 21, Raiders 17
4:25 p.m. ET Colts at Steelers
The Colts are looking really scary right now. They’ll get a test on the road this week with a Steelers team looking to find form. Andrew Luck finally has an average game in this one, and the Colts are unable to make up for it. The Steelers get the upset. Steelers 27, Colts 24
8:30 p.m. ET Packers at Saints
The Saints choked away a great road win last week badly with a 4th quarter collapse. It’s never fun to play in New Orleans on primetime, and it’s even worse when the Saints are mad about the game last week. The Saints finally have their coming out party against a really hot Packers offense in this shootout. Saints 38, Packers 35
MONDAY, OCTOBER 26th
8:30 p.m. ET Redskins at Cowboys
The Cowboys are for real. They really are. The offensive line is incredible, and Tony Romo is handing it off and doing his job when needed. Washington isn’t very good, and this one could even get fairly ugly. Cowboys 35, Redskins 14
