KSU’s men’s basketball coaching staff has continued to turnover.
In a week where Lewis Preston “mutually agreed” to leave and interim head coach Jimmy Lallathin was promoted to head coach, it appears another coach has been shown the door.
Mike Scutero, who was hired as an assistant on Nov. 25, won’t be a part of Lallathin’s staff for the coming season, according to an interaction between Scutero’s official Twitter account and Columbia State Community College (Tenn.) coach Brian Collins. Scutero was hired while Preston was still serving as the team’s head coach.
@coachpenny1 thanks Penny… Appreciate your kind words. We will be in touch.. Congrats on a great year & keep them players coming..

Scutero spent nine seasons coaching at the collegiate level before arriving under Preston seven games into the 2013 season. Before arriving at KSU, Scutero was an assistant at Middle Tennessee State, where he helped the Blue Raiders to three regular season conference titles and a trip to the NCAA championship. Scutero coached five seasons at Odessa College in Odessa, Texas.
Scutero has also seen success as a coach at the AAU, JUCO and high school levels.
