Kennesaw State football will be celebrating its initial class of recruits on Wednesday Feb. 5 for National Signing Day. The athletic department released on Monday details about how the day will transpire.
National Signing Day, the ceremonious end to most of the marathon-like work done by football staffs nationwide on their 2014 recruiting classes, gives a chance for KSU head coach Brian Bohannon a chance to discuss publicly the recruits he and his staff have been working on for nearly a year.
Live coverage of the day’s proceedings starts at 7 a.m., and will feature an audio show from 8 a.m. onward. Video footage will also be available, along with a “Cover It Live” feed.
Each signed player, once a Letter of Intent is faxed in, will also have a bio on KSUOwls.com. A chart currently sits blank on the football page, but it has slots for position, height, weight, hometown and video.
Bohannon said previously that he expects to sign around 25-30 members. The average size of a Big South recruiting class in 2013 was 21 members.
A 6 p.m. celebration at the football offices will wrap up the historic day, to which donors and students from the “Black and Gold” fan group, among others, have been invited. Only an RSVP is required to attend. The athletic department said there would be space for around 400 attendees, but an employee estimated on Tuesday that around half of those spots had been filled.
The Sentinel will also be providing full coverage of National Signing Day and all associated events.
