Sigma Tau Delta is very excited to announce their first ever Literary Festival, taking place the week of Shakespeare’s birthday on April 23-26.
Each day between 12-2 p.m. there will be performances and readings from students and faculty, beginning with a performance on Shakespeare’s birthday, Monday April 23, by KISS, or the “Kennesaw Improv Society, Stupid!”
Sigma Tau Delta President Julie Fowkes encouraged involvement on the Literary Festival event Facebook page, she said, “But be warned…it might get a little naughty!”
Tuesday April 24, students and faculty will be reading their favorite poetry, Wednesday April 25, they will present Fiction and Flash Fiction, and on Thursday April 26, they will read Fables and Mythologies.
“Now is your chance to sign up and read something, but hurry because spots are filling already!” Said the Fowkes on the Facebook page. Faculty and Students can sign up by joining “KSU English Honor Society Sigma Tau Delta” on Facebook and posting to either their wall or the event wall.
“We will be giving out free t-shirts and, in honor of Shakespeare’s birthday, free cake,” said Fowkes.
In a comment on the event page, Fowkes encourages’ students to sign up to read, by quoting one of KSU’s English professors, Dr. Bowers, who said, “Don’t be afraid…it’s just poetry.”
