Erin L.Wolf of SuiteTrack LLC, Leadership Development for Professional Women, will conduct a lecture on how to establish yourself and your career as a brand on Wednesday, March 21.
“A few years ago when I was building my business, I focused on the competencies I thought needed to be taught to emerging leaders. I realized that if potential leaders don’t know who they are or what they’re about, nobody else will either so it’s tougher to lead. People are more comfortable with leaders who have a well-defined ‘brand’ or reputation so they know what to expect. ‘Personal Branding’ became the first in a series of workshops I then created,” Wolf said.
Shortly after meeting with Connie Engel, now Chair of the KSU Foundation Board, and Kathy Schwaig, Interim Dean of Coles College of Business, Wolf accepted the position of Executive in Residence at Coles College of Business.
“Building a personal brand should not be a consideration – it should be an imperative for any career-minded person today. It’s not that tough to do, but most of us don’t do it with disciplined awareness. We back into our brand – others may even be more aware of our brand than we are. Your brand or reputation is your most important personal asset – an important strategy on your path to power is to build your reputation and image,” said Wolf.
Wolf said the audiences will benefit from this lecture by keeping in mind that branding applies to the audience directly, when looking for a future job, in your current workplace or even at school.
“We all feel overwhelmed at times. I choose my priorities and stick to them. I drop those things from my life that are ancillary to my goals or my happiness. I get rid of the ‘shoulds’ and do the ‘wants.’ I always try to remember that I am choosing to live the life I live – nobody is choosing it for me,” Wolf said.
Wolf will speak in Prillaman Hall in room 1000, March 21 at 5 p.m. For more information visit www.suitetrack.com
