The creators of Adult Swim’s smash hit “Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job”, Tim Heidecker and Eric Warheim have ventured into the world of feature-length films. They plan to release their first full-length film, “Tim and Eric’s Billion Dollar Movie”, this spring.
The film, which features cameos from A-list celebrities such as Will Ferrell, Jeff Goldblum and Zach Galifianakis, and centers on the antagonistic Schlaaang Corporation and their quest to seek out Tim and Eric for failing to make a quality movie with the $1 billion dollar budget.
“We’re kind of relying on the cameos from Ferrell, Galifianakis and Goldblum to draw in an audience that has never seen our material before,” Heidecker said.
Although their show on Adult Swim and short movies on HBO’s “Funny or Die” may appear to be without a linear storyline, Heidecker assured us that they in fact have storylines and arcs.
Heidecker and Warheim said they took a “Scary Movie” (as in the famous film franchise) approach to editing and writing in that many pop culture references are made throughout the film.
Filmed in Los Angeles, Warheim said the writing process lasted for six months, shooting lasted for twenty days, and it was edited in three months.
“We even used the same crew that films and edits the TV show”, Heidecker said.
“Tim and Eric’s Billion Dollar Movie” will be nationally released on March 2.
