The Kennesaw State women’s golf team will play its first tournament of 2020 at the UCF Challenge on Sunday, Feb. 2.

The Kennesaw State women’s golf team began the 2019 season last Monday at the Golfweek challenge in Wolcott, Colorado. Schmit led the Owls with an eighth place finish and was honored as the ASUN golfer of the week.

The women’s golf team captured its second straight ASUN conference title on Thursday, winning by 13 strokes.

The Kennesaw State men’s and women’s golf teams concluded their seasons in May, improving both individually and collectively to have successful seasons.

The women’s golf team placed second at the Hawkeye-El Tigre Invitational in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, over the weekend, finishing with a five-player team total of 28-over par.

The men’s golf team finished in a tie for third place at last week’s Tiger Invitational in Opelika, Alabama, led by Pablo Rodriguez-Tabernero Torres, who was named the Atlantic Sun Conference golfer of the week.

The men’s and women’s golf teams are preparing for their spring seasons to start Feb. 12 and Feb. 19 respectively, and players have been improving their skills over the winter break.
